The Munk School Black Student Association empowers and advocates for meaningful inclusion of Black policy students at the school. This initiative provides inclusive opportunities for leadership, community engagement and networking for racialized students and their allies at Munk, while committing to tackle anti-Black racism and systemic discrimination
To this end, this student-led initiative (SLI) embodies the following objectives:
1. Foster inclusion of Black and racialized students within the Munk School - building safe spaces.
2. Provide opportunities for mentorship, academic and professional Development
3. Ensure allyship is fostered across all student-led initiatives, the student body and the wider Munk community.
4. Advocate for more inclusion and diversity within the Munk School, including in the student body, staff, and faculty.

Co-Executive Director | Orna Charles-Obazei
Orna Charles-Obazei is a master’s candidate at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, where she focuses on civic identity and the political economy of development in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Currently, Orna serves as a policy analyst intern with an international NGO dedicated to advancing meaningful refugee participation in policy and decision-making at both international and national levels. She supports the organization in achieving this by co-developing innovative, forward-thinking policy mechanisms.
Orna holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Creative Writing diploma from the University of Waterloo. Her interdisciplinary background in science and the arts informs her interest in group behavioral responses to civic participation and power, which extends to her commitment to empowering and creating pathways Munk students.

Co-Executive Director | Christinne Jean Louis
Christinne Jean Louis, currently a second-year Master of Global Affairs student at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. I am happy to serve as Co-President of the Munk School Black Students Association for the 2025–2026 academic year.
She has always been very committed to community engagement and creating inclusive, supportive environments where everyone, regardless of their background can thrive. At the Munk School, she is dedicated to fostering a culture of belonging in which all students feel valued, especially Black and racialized students. In collaboration with the broader Munk community, she is committed to advancing efforts that actively dismantle the barriers that hinder equity and access.
She looks forward to working alongside my peers and the Munk administration to uplift diverse voices, strengthen support systems, and ensure that our community reflects the values of equity and excellence.
